ROCHEM - WE INVENTED DTRO

In 1982, Rochem acquired a patent for reverse-osmosis filtration using membranes separated by plates. After considerable refinement to the design of the membrane spacers, separation plates and their containing tubes, Rochem pioneered the application of DiskTube Reverse- Osmosis, or DTRO as it is now universally known. Rochem technology has since been copied extensively but it is difficult to duplicate our extensive knowledge in applications, engineering and quality of service. Rochem has been located in Hamburg Germany since 1972. Rochem stands for “Made in Germany”.

ENGINEERED FOR YOU

Backed by independent certification, ROCHEM engineers skid- or container-based or built-in systems to specific water and space requirements. We can treat from 1 to several thousand cubic meters of difficult water per day.

“JUST PRESS PLAY”

Our ROCHEM DTRO systems are designed to be operated with very limited knowledge. We build them to be autonomous. Any required pretreatment chemicals are introduced automatically into the system. If anything goes wrong, the system automatically alerts the operator and switches into a safe mode.

DESIGNED FOR YOUR NEEDS

ROCHEM DTRO systems are modular and custom-built for your requirements. Starting from one half-tube module, we can build systems spread over several containers which can rapidly be deployed to treatment sites around the world. If you need to expand treatment capacity later on, we can quickly add modules as needed to keep you at full speed.

TRUSTWORTHY DRINKING WATER AT SEA

ROCHEM supplies high-quality and custom-designed DTRO systems for all types of difficult-to-treat water. This allows us to recover fresh water from seawater with an SDI up to 15. We have a world-wide reputation for thorough engineering, high responsiveness and German quality. As a result, many of the World’s navies entrust Rochem to filter the drinking water for their servicemen from seawater.

ROCHEM DELIVERS "TRINKWASSER"

We use our BIOFILT systems to treat their grey and black water before discharge into the sea or for reuse in on-board systems. Rochem has been awarded the German Navy’s rigorous Drinking Water certification. We have engineered hundreds of ROCHEM DTRO systems for frigates, aircraft carriers and patrol ships, and we have developed a particularly strong expertise in the difficult subject of fitting systems onboard submarines where space and energy are at a premium.

DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN DRINK BLACK WATER?

ROCHEM BIOFILT is designed to make grey and black water suitable for reuse according to marine regulations or for discharge into nature. Our effluent is so clean that it is compliant with the MEPC227 (64) standard for special areas. Our units are self-contained and are designed to operate and self-clean automatically unlike other systems. This reduces personnel involvement and foul smells to a minimum.

WATER SO CLEAN YOU CAN SWIM IN IT

ROCHEM BIOFILT technology combines anaerobic and aerobic anoxic tanks with a series of 1 to 10 Rochem FS modules to provide a small footprint and high flow. It is therefore suitable for marine use or for size-limited applications.

If you would prefer not to surround your vessel with - and swim in - brown water and brown smells, or if you would like to truly be on the right side of marine life, ROCHEM has the solution: BIOFILT.

RETURNING LANDFILL LEACHATE BACK TO NATURE

40 years ago, ROCHEM became the first water-management company to treat landfill leachate, the most toxic water on Earth. We return up to 95% of this water to nature, cleaner than when it fell from the sky. We have also developed several methods to dispose of the remaining sludge and to help you arrive at 0% discharge. Our ROCHEM DTRO systems are capable of providing PFAS-free discharge water should your local regulations require this. ROCHEM currently has over 200 machines handling leachate around the world.

YOUR SOLUTION FOR DIFFICULT WATER

ROCHEM DTRO provides solutions for companies in fields as diverse as bottled drinks, landfill management and textiles to solve their water problems - discharging verifiably clean water back into the waterways or re-using the water inside their processes.

Rochem systems are well-known for their excellent reliability. Our systems commonly clean difficult water for several decades at surprisingly low operating and recovery costs.
